Description:

Moreno’s spontaneity theory is a cornerstone of psychodramatic and sociometric enactments. Rather than view a person’s problems or challenges from a pathological perspective, which can keep the person stuck , spontaneity theory presents the practitioner with a concept that empowers the client. This training will ground the practitioner in the theory and provide tools to co-create adequate spontaneity in clients . This is applicable in any type therapeutic setting. CEU’s: Up to 15 hours

The participant can expect to learn the dynamics of being an effective director of a psychodramatic enactment. Warming up

as a director,  the spontaneity of the director, being creative, use of metaphors and analogies as well as the concept of “concretization” will be demonstrated. The classical psychodrama will be the model wherein a minimum of 3 scenes are enacted. The participant will learn how to find three scenes , the timing of going to each scene and the director’s soliliqually.

Couples spend an inordinate amount of time confronting each other, in and out of the therapy room, producing at best compliance or resistance. Compliance offers a temporary reprieve from the tensions and lacks genuineness at best.

A first generation student of psychodrama, John Nolte brings a wealth of experience , diversity and history to this training week-end. John has created a reputation for promoting Moreno’s vision and intent that psychodrama and sociometry be utilized in every population and setting. Nolte was a co-creator , along with famed attorney Gerry Spence, in bringing psychodrama to the Trial Lawyers College located in Jackson, Wyoming. Dr. Nolte continues to challenge psychodramatists throughout the world to expand their use of the method in settings outside the clinical milieu . This workshop , as in the drama, will meet the participant “ where they are” and offer direction as to how to incorporate psychodrama and sociometry in their world . CEU’s: 14

Moreno stated that before the psychodrama there was the axiodrama. Using the enactment to explore the “ eternal verities”  (Psychodrama, Vol.3 , 1969, J.L. and Zerka Moreno) . The eternal verities include truth, beauty, justice, grace, piety, perfection, eternity and peace. So often clients , parishioners, patients give thought and attempts to provide , according to Webster, “ a necessary truth or fact” to a question…….where prior to the axiodrama, no truth or fact existed. Join us as we demonstrate how to use time in the therapy session to deal with these questions. The participant can expect to begin developing an understanding of the concept and how to begin directing an enactment around these questions. CEU’s: 12
